Homeschooling in 2020: What you need to know

Recognizing the need to respond to the many questions that have come as a result of the quarantine, SALT & LIGHT hosted a special outreach meeting in July of 2020.  A recording of that meeting has been made available below.

About this video:

In the wake of the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, many parents are considering all available options for education this fall. Homeschooling is right in the middle of the national discussion. If you are homeschooling or thinking about homeschooling in Pennsylvania, the following video is for you.

HSLDA Staff Attorney Dan Beasley will break down the different homeschooling options, explain how they differ, and answer your questions to equip you with the information you need to make the best choice for your family this fall. Dan will also discuss COVID-19’s impact on homeschooling nationwide.

More about Dan Beasley

As an HSLDA staff attorney, Dan assists individual homeschooling families and advocates for homeschool freedom in Pennsylvania and 12 other states. He regularly corresponds with school officials, college admissions staff, legislators, and government agencies regarding the legality and effectiveness of homeschooling and represents families who face legal challenges to their right to homeschool.

Dan earned his law degree from Oak Brook College of Law and a master’s degree in applied biblical studies from Moody Bible Institute. He and his wife Bethany (both homeschool graduates) are homeschooling their four children.
